From Kashmir, With Purpose: The Story Behind Qashvor
The story of Founder and the vision that became Qashvor.
Where It All Began
Every journey starts with an idea.
For Qashvor, that idea began in Kashmir — a place deeply connected to its traditions, natural richness, hospitality, and the ingredients that have been part of its culture for generations.
Growing up in Kashmir, I have always felt that there is something special about the products that come from this land. Saffron, nuts, and other traditional ingredients are not simply things we consume. They carry a sense of place, tradition, familiarity, and memories.
I wanted to create something that could take a little part of that feeling beyond Kashmir.
Something modern, but still connected to its roots.
Something that could represent Kashmir with pride while introducing its finest flavours to people beyond the valley.
That idea slowly became Qashvor.
Meet the Founder
My name is Mohammad Moin Raja, and Qashvor is a journey that I chose to begin because I wanted to build something of my own.
When I started, I didn't have everything figured out.
There was no perfect moment, no guarantee that everything would work, and certainly no clear path laid out in front of me.
There was simply an idea, a vision, and the decision to give that idea a chance.
Starting something from scratch means learning things you never expected to learn. There are countless decisions to make, unexpected problems to solve, mistakes to learn from, and moments when you wonder whether you are making the right choice.
But with every step, the idea became clearer.
And Qashvor became a little more real.
When Not Everyone Believed
One of the most honest parts of this journey is that not everyone believed in the idea from the beginning.
There were conversations with family. There were friends who questioned the decision. There were people around me who wondered whether starting something like this was really the right choice.
Some people told me it wouldn't work.
Some advised me to choose a safer path.
And honestly, there were moments when those words made me question myself too.
But today, I look back at those moments differently.
I am grateful for them.
I am grateful even to the people who discouraged me, because their doubts made me think more deeply about what I wanted.
They made me question my plans, understand my purpose better, and become more determined about the journey I had chosen.
Not everyone has to believe in your dream at the beginning.
Sometimes, you have to believe in it enough for yourself.
Why Qashvor?
Qashvor was never meant to be just another name selling saffron and nuts.
I wanted to build a brand with a sense of identity and purpose.
A brand that could represent where it came from while still feeling modern and relevant.
The vision was to create something that respects the ingredients, respects their origins, and presents them in a way that people can appreciate.
For me, it isn't simply about putting a product into a package.
It's about paying attention to the details — the ingredients, the presentation, the experience, and eventually the relationship we build with the people who choose Qashvor.
I want every part of the brand to reflect the thought behind it.
Starting Small, Dreaming Bigger
Every established brand once started with a first step.
For Qashvor, that first step has meant doing things one at a time.
Learning about products.
Understanding packaging.
Building a website.
Figuring out how to reach customers.
Learning about logistics and the many things that come with building a business.
Making mistakes.
Making changes.
Starting again when something doesn't feel right.
There is something humbling about building everything from the ground up.
But there is also something incredibly rewarding about watching an idea that once existed only in your mind slowly become something real.
Every small decision becomes part of a bigger picture.
And every challenge teaches you something that you couldn't have learned simply by thinking about starting.
Why Kashmir Will Always Be Part of Qashvor
Kashmir isn't just where Qashvor began.
It is part of the inspiration behind it.
The valley has a remarkable relationship with food, hospitality, craftsmanship, and nature. Ingredients such as saffron and nuts have long been connected with Kashmir's food culture and traditions.
I want Qashvor to respect that heritage while presenting it in a way that feels fresh and contemporary.
Not by changing what makes these ingredients special, but by allowing more people to discover and appreciate them.
As Qashvor grows, I want that connection to Kashmir to remain at the heart of the brand.
Because no matter how far the journey takes us, we should always remember where we started.
The People Behind the Journey
No journey is ever truly built alone.
While there were people who questioned my decision and advised me against taking this path, there were also people who stood beside me when the idea was still just an idea.
My mother has been an important part of this journey.
Her support, encouragement, and belief in me gave me the confidence to keep moving forward, especially during moments when things felt uncertain.
Some of my friends also helped along the way.
Sometimes it was an honest opinion. Sometimes it was an idea, a suggestion, their time, or simply a few words of encouragement when I needed them.
These things may seem small, but when you are building something from the beginning, they mean a lot.
And then there were the people who doubted me.
Today, I am grateful for them too.
The encouragement gave me strength, while the doubts gave me determination.
Both became part of the process of understanding what I wanted to build and why I wanted to build it.
To my mother, my friends, my family, and everyone who has supported, challenged, encouraged, or questioned me along the way —
Thank you.
Every one of you has played a part in the story of Qashvor.
What I Want Qashvor To Become
I don't want Qashvor to become successful simply because it sells products.
I want it to become a brand that people trust.
A brand people remember.
A brand that stands for quality without having to shout about it.
A brand that respects its origins while continuing to evolve.
I want Qashvor to grow carefully rather than simply grow quickly.
I want every product we introduce to have a reason behind it.
And most importantly, I want Qashvor to remain connected to the reason it was created in the first place:
To share something meaningful from Kashmir with the world.
Looking Beyond the First Step
There is still so much to learn.
Building a brand is not something that happens overnight. It is built through hundreds of small decisions, countless lessons, and the willingness to keep improving.
Qashvor is still learning.
Still growing.
Still finding its voice.
And that is something I am proud of.
Because I don't want to pretend that the journey has been perfect.
It hasn't.
There have been doubts, challenges, mistakes, and moments of uncertainty.
But there have also been ideas, support, excitement, and the satisfaction of seeing something slowly come together.
For me, that is what makes this journey meaningful.
The Journey Is Just Beginning
Qashvor is still at the beginning.
There is a long road ahead, many things to learn, and many challenges still waiting for us.
There will be moments when things don't go according to plan.
There will be mistakes.
There will be things we have to learn the hard way.
But I believe that every meaningful journey comes with uncertainty.
What matters is having the courage to take the first step — and the determination to keep taking the next one.
What began as an idea in Kashmir is slowly becoming a real brand, one small step at a time.
And I hope that as Qashvor grows, it never loses the qualities that inspired it in the first place:
Quality. Heritage. Simplicity.
Because ultimately, Qashvor isn't just about where we are today.
It's about where we're going.
And this is only the beginning.
